CEL and No Codes

Had my passenger side battery out of the truck while installing my Frantz filter. Also disconnected the sensor on the air intake and the grid heater relays.

Once everything was back together my CEL stays on. Did the code check thing with the key and all I got was "------" and then "-done-" after a few seconds, followed by the odometer reading. Have tried several times and always the same result; CEL is on, "------", then "-done-", then odometer.

Anyone have any experience with this? Wish I could afford that StarScan and the updates!
