These Trucks Ain't Supposed To Do That! (Locked out w/engine running)

O.K., call me stupid. I got in my truck awhile ago to start it (it was 10 below zero here last night, O.K.?). I also let my two Portuguese water dogs in the truck because they go with me everywhere. Something on my clothing, gloves or steering wheel must have bumped the lock button on the truck key (yeah, I heard the beep but the driver's door unlocks when it's opened, right?).

So I got in, started the truck, then got back out to load some trash to leave for the garbage man. Naturally, I closed the door because, as I said, it's cold outside and I didn't want my dogs getting out. It was a huge shock when I tried to get back in the truck and found all four doors locked.

So here I sit, outside the truck, waiting from my wife to drive home from work and unlock the door with her set of keys. The girls, as I call the dogs, are in the truck wondering what's going on because I've never treated them this way before. My wife tried to come home the usual way on CR 1 but a 5-car pile-up at the bottom of Pisgah Hill was blocking up things. So she's coming around the other way on SH 67 where someone said a whiteout is blowing across the highway.

In the meantime, my truck is in the carport idling, getting absolutely zero miles per gallon. The girls think I'm nuts and my wife will show up in about an hour with that "How could you do this to me" look on her face for making her drive through a whiteout.

Lord only knows what will happen next. Anybody got a spare bedroom?
