Will I lose Sirius if I remove factory head unit?

I want to take out the factory head unit and replace with another Pioneer stereo that I've had for awhile. This is my question.....will I lose my Sirius satellite radio, or does it actually go through the Sirius box behind the glove box? If it goes through the Sirius box behind the glove box, then I should be able to send the signal to my Pioneer. Anyone know?

By the way, what's involved in stereo removal on an '06 w/o navigation? TIA.
