LED lights causing troubles?

I just had a flatbed installed with LED lights on it. I have a problem with the "Lamp out" indicator staying on all the time now and the turn signal flasher flashes at twice speed. On my '98 work truck, I replaced the flasher with a simple 2-pole electronic type. Can I do the same on my '03 and will it eliminate the "lamp out" indication? If not, is there any way to disable it?
