How often should your AC compressor cycle?

How often should your AC compressor cycle?

I noticed that mine will cycle on for about 5-10 seconds then off for about 20 seconds, then back on... Is this normal cycling??? Trying to pin down that AC hummm noise I am getting from the condensor... thanks!
