PS Pump replacement tips

I've got a 04.5 3500 4x4 (55,000 miles) with a failing power steering pump. Its gotten progressively sluggish to turn when stopped, and going at low speeds. Fluid is topped off, and there are no leaks or noise coming from the box. I think its ready for replacement (like many others on this forum).

I checked with the dodge parts house and the pump is on backorder (of course). Price to me is around $125 or so.

Anyone with experience in changing out these PS pumps? I'd like to save some money and do it myself (moderately experienced wrencher). Thoughts and tips would be appreciated. Should I also change out the hoses when replacing the pump?
