06-07 Ram, anyone paint or remove rams head from grille?

Not exactly tech, but has anyone painted or removed the rams head from the center of the grille on an 06-07? If I remove it, it will leave an indentation it's one of the last chrome pices on my truck (all black sport). I wonder how long the panit would last on the rams head if I scuffed if up a bit first? The one on the tail gate was a ***** to get off but looks so much cleaner now that it's gone.
