2005 5.9CTD 2WD SLT information, please!

Hey folks!

I found a 2005 5.9 CTD 2WD LB SLT with 10,400 miles. I know the mileage is true because with a little detective work I found that the truck belonged to a neighbor of my ex-boss. After sitting last winter when he had heart trouble/surgery he decided to trade it off. I had a long chat with him, but he didn’t remember much of the technical information.

This is where I need your expert help-

- Are the CA emissions different from the 49 state emissions for 2005-year diesel PU?
- Is there a web site where I can enter the VIN# to find out the GCVWR, maximum towing capacity, maximum payload capacity, axle ratio etc? The salesman/business mgr. thinks that is a 20,000# GCVWR and a 4:10 ratio, before I spend the money I would like to see it in writing though. The dealer entered the VIN # into his program and printed an options list, however it doesn’t say anything about the gear ratio, max. weight limits etc.
- It has 265/70R 17 tires (I forgot to check the ply rating) and a 11.5 rear axle. Would this be indicative of the 20,000# GCVWR?
- What is the HP and TQ?
- Does this year have the hydraulic controlled viscous fan clutch"

Of general interest to me.

- What is the basic difference (if any) between the ‘05, ’06, ’07s with the 5.9 diesel?
- Will my flow through dropped center 2nd gen. tailgate fit the 3rd gen.?
- What is Cargo Box Tracking?
- On the 2nd gen. there is a hole in the firewall above the brake pedal that is plugged with a rubber grommet that was perfect for threading wires/co-axial through for the CB etc. Does this hole exist on the 3rd gen?
- What is Toluca painted cargo box?
