My solution to save ~200.00 (AMP bedstep)
The AMP BedStep is a great idea. Unfortunately, it has two things going against it. The $250.00 price and the apparent exposed, unsightly bracket hanging down off the corner of the truck bumper.
Here's my $60 solution:
The EZ DOWN TAILGATE DAMPER
I step up on the ball of the receiver hitch with my hands on the top of the closed tailgate and step onto the bumper, then swing one leg into the bed and then the next. After I'm in the bed, I unlatch the tailgate and let the damper ease it down. Still have to deal with the height of the bed getting out, but thats not such a biggie to me.
