Fuel gauge

I have an 03 HO and the fuel gauge will not come off the fuel mark until about 150 miles. When the gauge reads 1/4 tank it takes 32 to 32.5 gals to fill. They put a new lift pump in the tank and it still reads the same. They said when they a new lift pump in it had a new sending unit on it. Any ideas. Thanks.
