Radio Overhead lighting ?

The Radio and overhead console lighting is so dim that with sunglasses on you cant see either one of them. It is OK at night. Is there any way to make them brighter? Like my old 01 was. The dimmer on the light switch only works when the kights are on and still does n ot make it readable in bright sunlight. Thanks for any help..
