No Power steering and no brakes

Son in law has 2006 truck with no power steering and no brakes. Replaced pump and worked good for a couple of days but now back to no steering/brakes. Also different is the power steering reservoir builds up pressure in it. I don't know what would cause that.
Any help will be appreciated.
