Just seems odd to me, no TSB but a parts kit in one box.

It is not the first time individual parts have superceded to a replacement kit

I realise that, tomorrow I am doing an HVAC sub assembly update on a 2000 Jeep but its for a specific reason. I was just wondering if anyone knew why the change? After posting here I read another thread it may be related to the Death Wobble reports.

It is a bit different but with all the heads rolling in the auto industry not surprising.

Thanks for the update. I think I'll give Carli a call this week and see about the second stabilizer. My truck tracks pretty well after purging some of the nitrogen but I still think that the dual set up looks like the way to go.
Thanks to nitrogen for the reply as well. I'm new to the TDR & I couldn't figure out how to place two different quotes into the same reply. Thanks all.

Note the Dual stabs from Carli are not in an opposing configuration. The truck may still pull.

I just looked at the original pic more closely. I didn't catch that. I'll leave the OEM as it tracks pretty good after purging the bilstien a little. I'm saving for the 2.0 bilstiens anyway. Thanks.

Odd, when I talked to Bilstein they said they don't make stabilizers, seems a shock designed for suspension used as a steering stabilizer would not be the thing to do

No it would not, you must have talked to a person that just answers phone calls tech or not he is wrong. The body may be standard 7100 but the innards are different. Matt just do it and get it over with you will be pleasantly happy

Carli does so much business with shock companies they have their own part #s and products.

I'm gonna do it, its the stabilizer I am working on now. I just want to use the 08 oem location cuz I don't need the dual stuff.
What I should have said was- the fella at Bilstein said they don't make the typical "add-on" dampener. He said they have them for some OEM Aps and Motor Homes which can be found here just not our trucks.
A point he made is using a mono-tube type of body is a bad idea because if it were to get hit with a rock then the steering may bind.
I can't find a 7100 dampener on their site so it must be something Carli is having Bilstein build for them.

I'm sorry--I'm old and get confused easily---once again--Do you have to change the pitman arm if you install the new kit(52122362AE)? Yes or no?
If you do, what is the pitman arm part number that is compatible with the new kit and do you know if it is on back order the same as the new kit is?
Thanks,
Jay

Yes the new pitman arm is a good thing to go with the new steering kit. As for the part number or its availability, I have no idea.

Good question Jay, It's been said you should change it to eliminate drag link stud contact with the center link but from what I read it appears that may be on trucks with other mods like different springs & track bar and or control/radius arms. I haven't read where a stock truck could have this trouble in addition when this kit is being installed as a warranty item the pitman arm is not changed out.
Even the original TSB #22-005-06 which covers 03-07 4x4's does not have the pitman arm listed. On the other hand the 08 pitman arm is different so there must be a reason they changed it.
