Sirius radios - ya learn something new every day!
My Sirius radio stopped working all of a sudden. It was flashing a "no signal" message, and would not respond to controls from the head unit. Luckily, my truck is still under warranty so I called my dealer to schedule a day for them to do the H46 recall (my truck is not affected) and repair/replace the Sirius receiver (or the antennae or whatever the problem was)....
The service manager stopped me in mid sentence and recommended I call Sirius service first to see if they can do a download of some sort to my receiver to revive it. I was a tad skeptical but I called Sirius and sure enough they had it working again in just a few minutes. Turns out that most dead receivers are actually OK and just need a new download from Sirius.
I went from perturbed to pleased very quickly!! Good on my dealership (Keene Dodge in Md) for saving me the time and hassle. I stopped by there and they took a quick glance under the front of my truck and I was on my way.
Hope this helps someone with a similar issue....
