h.o. comrail quiet/std output loud?

In my digging around for info I came to the conclusion that the ho motor had the the pilot injection making the motor quiet but nobody talks about the std motor 250hp 460 lbs ft.? They say that both engines have had engine noise levels reduced leaving the idea that the std motor would be louder.
