Same 6-speed?

Can anyone tell me if the 03 six speed transmission is the same as the first six speeds? There has been a run of problems with them with people that tow heavy around here. The company I work for has had two owner/operators that have lost 2nd gear and I have heard of others. This all oilfield hotshot work, 40 ft G/N trailers ect. Just wondering if it was the same transmission. Am thinking about getting an HO when mine gets to 500,000 miles. If it's the same transmission, I think I'll just get an automatic and beef it up like the one I have now. Thanks in advance for the response.
