dealer doesn't know how to check build status??

Alright, I'm getting antsy...truck was ordered right before Christmas and I was told 6 to 8 weeks, but I called to see how I can check the status and my salesman didn't know how. With the recent posts, I'm getting excited... question is, how do I check status?? I did a search but I don't have my VIN. any help is appreciated!!!
