100 day storage of new 2003 3500 QC CTD HO
Gentlemen:
On 7-29-03 I'm taking delivery of a new 2003 3500 CTD HO QC 4X2. I'm going to drive it 2,300 miles from the dealer to its new home, then garage it for 100 days while I'm gone on a job.
No one is going to drive it during that time; it'll be locked up.
I found a post from June 2002 on the subject of long-term storage -- 90 days in that case. There were 7 replies, and the consensus was to add diesel fuel preservative to the tank, park it and forget it.
However, the parasitic electrical systems, such as the clock, radio memory, security system and so forth will probably drain the batteries in 100 days, so I wondering if I should disconnect the batteries, at the least.
At the end of the 100 day period, I'm going to start driving it normally, every day.
What suggestions do you have? Thanks.
