Dimming Rearview Mirror Feature

My 03 CTD came with out the dimming rear view mirror feature, and was wondering if anyone has had the dealership order one, and install, or done a install themselves. I have also noticed in certain magazines you can order these aftermarket dimming rear view mirrors with the little small window made into the mirror for outside temperature. I thought that even though we have overhead computer with outside reading that the one on the mirror could be used for interior readings. (interior ac, heat,). Any thoughts!
