WTF with the air filters ???

Checked mine yesterday since I had the hood open looking to see what the dealership did to my truck (replaced the injector line to #6). WTF? 18,000 miles and it looks like someone shot tar up in my filter! It's really black, really caked. I haven't driven the truck anywhere I haven't taken my other trucks and cars and I can't believe how dirty this thing is at 18,000 miles. Have others seen this same thing?
