what gear should I pull?????

What gear should I pull in? My truck makes a little over 500 hp/1200 lbs and its an 03' long box. I pulled last week and the truck over reved in both low 4th and high 2nd. I need help because I got beat by an 03' Dura Max. Does any one know what the low side of the transfer case on a 96 thur 98 and the ratios of the 5 speed.
