Trans Fluid Temperature Mystery.... solved?
Borrowed the below chart from Mag-Hytec website. It sheds some light on the dangers of running hot trans fluid. While it may have a vendor bias, Im wondering how close to accurate you guys think this chart is?
I question it as being too conservative since DC allows 260F before the auto will downshift on its own into 3rd from OD. Further, trans will not allow OD again until temp back down to 230F. Doesn't 260F seem pretty warm, if the tranny will burn up in 6000 miles?
