what should i look for in a 2003?

i'm in the market for a 4 door truck, since 2003 is the earliest i can go i would like to know what i should be looking out for?

now i know that the HO motor comes with an auto that year which is what i want and i also want to make sure it's a HO motor.
correct me if i'm wrong but it should say on the motor tag 305hp correct? is there a big differance between that motor and the new 2004/05 motors besides 20hp and 30ft tq ?

i just don't want something i should have waited on if you know what i mean. thanks for the help
