600, with no power?

I pulled a 16' gooseneck with a John Deere 5205, front end loader and shredder this morning. A total weight of about 8000 lbs. On flat ground, the fastest the truck will go is 75 MPH.

There are no mods on this truck, other that the muffler fell off. It seems like it takes a long time to accelerate, and the pedal is almost to the floor to keep the load moving at 70, ON FLAT GROUND . I can't figure this one out. The truck has pulled before, and always has felt a little sluggish. I never really noticed it until this morning when I was late for work and the rig wouldn't go. Just looking for any info.
