Local dealer has a 3500 with the engine out!!!

I was picking up parts and noticed a 04 dually with the engine removed.A liitle worried I asked the S.M. why?Apparently his "buddy" changed his oil for him and left the filter loose.I don't know how the guy ran it with no indication something was wrong

.So this ended up being a $11,000 oil change

cause it fryed the engine.I guess warranty don't cover stupidity
