does '05 run hotter?

I just got the new Isspro's installed and it seems that it runs quite a bit hotter than my '02 did. It seems to take forever to get the egt's down to 300 before shutting down. It still has pretty low mileage.

Could it be hotter because it is closer to exhaust ports? I drilled and taped per Geno's instruction.

Could I have the Thermocouple in the incorrect position? Too far up/down. I measured and it should be right in the middle. It even seem hotter during regular operation. i can hit 1200 quick on WOT.

thanks in advance
David
