Problems with the TST
I was driving to work this morning when out of the blue my check engine light came on and the engine started misfiring bad..sounded like I had dropped a cylinder and the truck had next to no power...My first thought was that I had a dead injector or blown a hole in a piston...I managed to coax her into a gas station and and shut her down...I checked all of the connections for the TST under the hood and they were all fully seated and tight...I started the engine and it was still misfiring...As I was already late for work I started pulling out the TST (those crank and camshaft posisition sensors suck to work with on a hot engine)...When I finally got it all unhooked I started her up again and she ran smooth as glass...Before I contact TST about this..is there n e thing I should check out or test?..What could possibly cause a sudden dead cylinder when the truck was running fine a few minutes before?..I bought the box used from a friend a few months ago and for the most part it was great..I had an occasional back fire and sometimes it would idle rough or sound like it had a random misfire under load...I figured it was just a bad injector but now I am not so sure...Any help would be greatly appreciated..
