A silly question about egt probe installation.

Ok so I have my nice nifty new truck and I feel it is time to play. I will install nice boost and egt guages to keep it all in check. Boost is easy, just a boost bolt away, dont overtighten and make sure it is well sealed.

Now for the egt probe? Where do I put this? In the exhaust stream of course but pre turbo in the manifold? In the elbow after the turbo? Is the elbow thick enough to drill and tap? Get a bung welded on the downpipe? Do I need to pull the manifold to drill it?
Sorry if the question is silly but I just want to get it right the first time......
I did see the install write up on here with pics, but I thought it belonged after the turbo(thats where it was on my sad old fd 6.9 turbo).
