Replace your flexplate when upgrading your auto!!
I finally got my tranny out to see my broken flexplate. I have been waiting on ATS for over a week because they were out of stock on there Billet flexplate. I contacted Ken at Diesel Performance in Utah and he hooked me up with a ATS flexplate he had in stock. Ken gave me a great TDR deal and overnighted the flexplate to me. Many thanks to Ken and his staff at Diesel Performance, I can't wait to get back behind the wheel of my cummins.
If you upgrade your 48re make sure you do the flexplate. This was not stressed to me when i bought my ATS stage 5. The stock flexplate is paper thin and has holes in the middle where with power upgrades will start to tear the center out.
I would even go as far to say do your flexplate before the input shaft.
