Engine knocking

I have 03 with 70K, I shut off at bank and when I started it back up it had a terrible knocking sound and was putting out blue smoke at exhaust.This is the first it has done this and without warning. What would cause such a dramatic change? I have been running the TST box on 1/1 to try to conserve fuel. Any ideas where to start looking?
