New 06, CEL issue

My dad has an 06 3500 4x4 with less than 5k on it, completely stock. Has the G-56 transmission.Yesterday it drove just fine, no issues. This morning it took a fit and barely ran, set the CEL, and almost didn't get it home. I fired it up, and it ran fine, got it up to normal operating temp and still ran fine. Tried the key on 3x and got no codes, just done, in the odo window. Drained the fuel filter and got nothing but clean fuel. It has about 1/2 tank since last filled. Oil is clean, as normal, no odd colors or odors. Fuel pressure and all gauges on dash show normal specs. Ran it all day, and started it several times each run out, but nothing out of the ordinary, full power, no smoke or noises. Still the CEL stays on. Going to take it to the dealer tomorrow, and see what they come up with. Anyone else with this issue? I have searched the forums and come up blank. Few posts with this issue, but they refer to a TSB for older trucks, and this one should have all those already done, since it was built way after those TSBs were issued.
