clarification on g56 fluid level

I have an 06 quad cab dually with the g56 I have read a couple of different threads on the amount of fluid this tranny takes and how to fill. I would like to change over to amsoil and I want to know what to expect. some have said that it takes 4 quarts, and some have said that it takes 6 but to put 6 in you have to pull the shifter tower and put 2 quarts in from the top. can anyone give the precise amount of fluid and proper way to fill.
