Bad LP?

I beleive I have a bad lift pump. I am going to install a pump @ the fram rail by the tank. My Q is, which line is the supply/return. There are two, one is larger. I would assume that the larger one is the supply. But I hate to assume anything.
I am heading out to pick up a pump that will work.
Any replies would be great. I will check back later this evening.
