How Can I tell if my G56 is FULL from factory?

My Manufacture date on my truck is July of 05, but it is an 06. I just purchased it. ( Yes, a couple of my tires have tiny cracks from the sitting. How I can tell if I need to add the extra quart? Seems to me that it was only the early 05's that needed checking??? Is it OK for a brand new truck to sit for a while on the lot?? Everything SEEMS fine.. thanks!
