Dodge Dealer Fuel Pump Relo. Kit

When doing the Dodge fuel pump relocation kit (p/n 68003869AA), Does the ECM need to be flashed immediately upon completion, or can the truck be driven before the reflash.. I skimmed over the instructions and I dont really see why the ECM needs to be reprogrammed..
