Flat spot, 2800 rpm third gear

This only happens in third, none of the other gears. The engine just completely falls in a hole, then catches and pulls the last couple hundred rpm. I haven't tried it towing anything just empty. I was wondering if anybody else had experienced this?

It feels like it just runs out of fuel for a second. I will change the fuel filter this weekend since it is of unknown age (recently bought the truck).
