Fuel Delivery Error Code
So I'm pumped! I have my new CTD (new to me) hooked up to my 35' fiver and rolling down the highway thinking how sweet it is and how good it's pulling my 11,000lb rig for the first time.
The cruise is set and I'm cooking along at 70 and 2900 RPM when it starts loosing power. I finally limp it into a roadside rest area and let it cool down a while and shut it off. There are no warning lights on so I check for codes and see a "Fuel Delivery Error Code".
After about 10 minutes I fire my beast back up ad take off again. I get about 25 miles and it starts wimping out on me again. Fortunately I was close enough to ease on to the campground. After unhooking the rig I went and bought a new fuel filter and installed it hoping that would solve my problem.
Coming home today the truck performed flawlessly so it appears that the fuel filter was the culprit.
I guess my question is, could this be a warning sign of a weak lift pump or can I relax and be content to make sure I have a spare fuel filter with me from now on?
Thanks for your thoughts,
