Removing cat on 2007 5.9

I have a 2007 3500 4x4 SRW 5.9 and i am looking for some opinions on removing the cat. Is it a good idea or bad idea? Has anyone done it on an 06 or 07 and did it make a difference. I've talk to some Cummins guys and they say do it, it will help, but I'm still unsure.
