Sharing/selling a Smarty Jr

I think from what I've read that if I set my truck back to the stock level on my smarty jr that it is no longer locked to the vehicle. So if I do that can I can let someone else try it out or sell it someone? Just want to make sure it's not permanently locked to my truck.
