How many of you guys carry a spare fuel pump?

Been looking at the new pump Geno's is carrying for $179 or there abouts. After reading the article in TDR Issue 60 on how easy it is to change on the side of the road, I am considering getting one to carry in the tool box.

My '03 only has 37K on it, but 80% of those miles are with a 18K fiver on it's back. Should I be more worried about the mileage or the fact it is 5 years old?

If I buy a replacement pump and put it in the toolbox, how long would it last? Would the seals go bad if I don't install it right away?

Maybe I am just paranoid. I read about somebody who only got 5000 miles on their CP3, then turn around and the next guy has 200K on his. My truck is stock, and will stay that way for a while at least. Even then, any mods will be toward fuel mileage and towing our fiver. My go-fast days are long gone.
