TST r-49 and tripped codes

I bought a TST 2 years ago and took off my EDGE Juice/EZ stack that worked flawlessly to install it. I really wanted the power but had nothing but trouble with many different codes. I talked to Mark quite a few times and a tech of his also trying to get it to work with no luck. I even took my truck to TST and Mark had his guys work on it for 4 hours with no luck. They moved the ground wire a few times which I too had done, tried a new wire harness, etc. so anyway they offered to refund my money. They said it could have been the remote start causing the problem. I took it home and completely removed the remote start and tried it again, no luck, the codes were back and no Air cond. I then re-installed my EDGE stack and it has worked flawlessly for the last 2 years. I did send the TST back for a refund.
I see now they offer the r-49 that has a few different programs and adjustable timing etc. I am curious to try it again and hope it works. Does anyone have a 03 like mine with or without the S.O. engine and have any luck with the TST? I plan to get a Smarty also.
or should I just get the Smarty?
