Proper Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS) For Calibration?

Can someone PLEASE give me the proper steps that need to be followed to calibrate a "New" Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS)? I have a 2003 and it is mounted on the top of the engine.

I broke down and bought one. Mine has been throwing codes for awhile, and I just can't ignore it anymore.
