Fuel connector SUCKS---air!

Had not driven the 04 much since Sept so I decided to run it to work and haul all my winter tires in one batch and change all my rigs over in the comfort of a heated shop. Fired the beauty off the next morning only to have it die in about 40 seconds. OHH MAN! --not the lift pump again --so soon?? I jumped back in and cycled the key and the fuel pump was running so I cranked her till she lit but died again in agout 20 seconds. It dawned on me it was 3 below and I had 3/4 tank of summer grade jelly. I got off work early and bought a jug of 911 Power service and dumped it in. It was 23 above and I thought --got it made, Ill light this thing up and go top the tank with #1 --she will be just fine! Wrong O diesel breath! Same drill for 2 more nights. Cycle the key --- she lights and runs about 30 - 40 seconds then quits. I took the top off the filter housing and had the wife run the key. It blew frothy bubbles and the fuel in the filter was liqiud as can be. Pulled the hose off the fuel pump on the side of the filter housing and sucked on it. (Hey I am getting MAD now!) I could hear air so I had wifey trace it down with her good hearing. The QUICK?? connector that transitions from steel line to rubber was loose as a goose and the seal was not sealing. I pulled that junk off and slipped the hose over the steel line and hose clamped it. Away she went and no problem since! If that had happend at 40 below between here and never never land it would have been a real scream. Can you say tow bill ?? Keep this one in your memory banks for later emergency fixxes !
