Filter Minder

I have a 2004.5 and I don't like the filter minder, why you ask, I do such routine maintainance that I do not use it... to me it is just another way dirt could wiggle it's way into. Is there a stock air box without it? Or if not, does anyone have a used or new filter minder I can trade for some tube steps and a bug deflector? (My friend kept pushing the yellow reset button on it and messed it all up.) Thanks.
