Question for the tranny guys

Had truck in to warannty balljoints R&R, had them change tranny filter and top up fluid as it was coming due. Well they over filled by a quart. took truck back to dealer, where they pulled excess fluid. My tranny temps run empty city driving 130deg. Temps are now running 180-200deg city driving and thats with ambeint temps of well below freezing. Told service manager about the issue and all I got was a shrug? Could the excess fluid cause the rise in temp or maybe they contaminated the fluid?

should also mention truck seem a little sluggish from a dead stop, takes a little more go pedal then it use to. Prob needs a rebuild?
