Truck quit running

I have looked through the threads on the lift pump going bad, and understand that they do go bad without warning, if i replace this with the in tank pump will i have to replace the injector pump? I drove the truck all day today and tonight it just quit. I have always heard the pump just before starting and now i hear silence.
