Amsoil Bypass Question

I just mounted my bypass and installed the return line. I stopped there because i'm confused. The part where the filter screws on has a bolt threaded into it. This bolt has a pin hole running through the center of it. Am i suppose to take the bolt off? If not how does oil get through this pin hole and could someone please tell me how it works? Sorry Amsoil is closed and i want to finish it tonight. Thank you very much.
