NV4500 HD - Hard Shifting
My 99 (116K miles) suddenly blocks when trying to move shifter into Reverse or !st when cold. No visible clutch leakage, fluid level OK and is 12 months old. No clutch drag apparent and engagement point is OK. Installed an aftermarket clutch for about a year with no problems. If I work the lever back and forth from the 5/R gate to the 1/2 gate it eventually clears up , hot or cold
Could it be the shift lever retainer? .....read about it in another post. If so, what is it and where is it.
