'06 dodge auto, very hard to get out of park??

my '06 auto is very hard to get out of park, it hangs up and almost feels like I am about to break something, it almost like I am always on a steep hill with a bunch of pressure on the park pin, however I don't think its coming from the trans itself but rather something in the shifter the part that when you depress the brake pedal allows the shifter to move, anyone else seen this and is there an easy fix??
