Fuel pump question

Once in a while I am seeing the following with my truck:
When I turn the key on and wait for the indicator to go out, the fuel pump is rather loud, like it has lost prime. It pumps up and quiets down, starts and runs just fine. This seem to occur mostly on very hot days after the truck has been sitting for a while. I was just wondering if anyone else has seen (actually heard) this with their truck? Is this a sign of a problem or one developing? Thanks
